Gallbladder H E L P

apologies if this is a long post, I just need advice!
I’ve had niggling stomach pains for a good 6 months. A couple weeks ago, on a friday night the pain started and it was unbearable. By the sunday I couldn’t cope so went to an out of hour GP. I had a slight temp, bloating, high heart rate. He concluded ibs and sent me off with buscopan. By the evening I was in agony, I went to A&E. My temp had got higher, as did my heart rate. My WBC count was elevated so they admitted me. I had an ultrasound and MRCP which found nothing except a dilated bile duct, my gallbladder is distended but apparently nothing ‘remarkable’. They have queried an ulcer, endoscopy booked for 2 weeks time. The pain has since subsided. Does anyone know if a distended gallbladder would cause pain?

hi and yes a distended gall is not good. and also a dilated bile duct is a concern. your digestive system is out of wack. cause is gall. your gall is probably very sick causing high blood pressure and pain, nausea, vomiting or dry heaves. also the cause of a dilated bile duct means you probably had a stone stuck there that can cause you very bad discomfort. hope you understand all the symptoms are caused by a bad gallbladder. Good Luck.

Hi you will know the difference with IBS and Gall Bladder pains, IBS is all waistline and frontal pain. Gall Bladder is right hand side and moves up and across the body. The pain may go as high as the shoulder which can be your Liver being upset. The IBS pain is very much like Gall Bladder but I have never had IBS go UP the body or to the chest as the GB does.
I have a distended GB and with sludge, which may hold tiny stones.
Fever is common and more so at night and you may find laying down also a problem. This is when you tend to vomit. The good sign for you is the pain has subsided. Eating is what will upset your GB. If your in the phase not being affected then just watch Fats and Dairy.
I found once I had vomited the Gall Bladder settled down but it can be easily upset again.
Remember your not talking to Dr’s in here this is people just giving you their experiences.
The whole problem is symptoms will sound as you say like IBS and other things.
