I have this burning pain right about where my gallbladder is, and it seems to go away after a bm, also my stomach gurgles a lot. I’ve gone from being constipated last week, to urgency to go with loose stools. No tenderness there, and the pain is mild and fleeting.
Does your pain move about? If so, it might be IBS.Ask for a HIDA scan and ultrasound to rule out gallbladder problems.
sometimes it moves around. mostly stays in the upper right
Shifting abdominal pain could be sign of IBS.
hopefully get some answers tomorrow. Dr appointment at 1:30
Good luck.
yep…ibs with constipation. I’m on medication for it.
Were you given an anti spasmodic and which one?
Dicyclomine… seems to be helping some.
That’s good news that the medication is helping. I find taking painkillers along with an anti spasmodic helps to get rid of the pain completely.Often antispasmodics reduce the pain only rather than taking it away entirely.
Which painkiller please?
I use ibuprofen
Ibuprofen.
Thank you. I read a lot about gallstones and it is contradicting Some say eat low fat diet and others say low fat diet is the cause of gallstones Any ideas?
Thank you. What have you read causes gallstones?
I’ve heard fat can irritate them, but I’m not sure.
Gallstones are thought to be caused by an imbalance in the chemical make-up of bile inside the gallbladder. Bile is a liquid produced by the liver to help digestion. It’s unclear what causes the chemical imbalance, but gallstones can form if there are unusually high levels of cholesterol inside the gallbladder (about 4 out of 5 gallstones are made of cholesterol).
A waste product called bilirubin inside the gallbladder (about 1 in 5 gallstones is made of bilirubin)
These chemical imbalances cause tiny crystals to develop in the bile. These can gradually grow (often over many years) into solid stones that can be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a pebble. Sometimes only 1 stone will form, but there are often several at the same time.
