Gallbladder pain location

Hello!

I have gallstones, diagnosed a couple of years ago. I have attacks periodically but I was in hospital last week as I had pain on and off for 4 days & it really screwed up my liver function tests.

(However I am relatively fortunate that my pain doesn't get as bad as some other people. It maxes at maybe an 8 out of 10.)

Normally my pain is the classic just under right breast however since I've left hospital I've had some mild back pain & also at my side, like a stitch but it's lower than I'd expect .

These don't seem the normal areas but I thought I would check as I'm waiting for a further appointment to see about gallbladder removal & I can mention it to the Dr.

I have gallstones as well and have had episodes of back pain on my rt side.If you are being careful with your diet it will probably settle.

Trying to be good at the minute. I'm hoping it's not too long until i get my appointment!

Hi

All of this could be gallbladder pain. If you have gallstones it won't go away.

All the best.

If your gall stones are cholesterol type they may well be dissolved by ursodioxycholic acid provided you want to keep your gall bladder and secondly can you find a doctor who is familiar with that treatment?

I’m in the UK don’t get much choice, but I’ll be seeing a specialist & they might be reluctant to do surgery if they don’t have to
