I've just received a letter from my GP stating that the Ultrascan I had last week shows along with a right sided ovarian cyst that I'm dealing with a 'small polyp in the gallbladder' which can cause problems on the right side of the stomach.
She has said all along (since Oct) that she never thought the abdominal pain I get wouldn't be due to the cyst and she booked me to see a member of the Gastroenterologists consultants. That appoint is next thurs so i've asked for a copy of the scan to take with me.
What is a polyp? I really don't want to google it too much as th information is so misleading sometimes.
Any advice or personal experience??
Hi Mason,
A gallbladder polyp is normally a growth similar to a skin tag. I have one myself and the doctors told me that it very very rarely turns into something more dangerous and that all I need to do is have yearly checkups to see that it's not growing. Hope this helps.
Thank you for taking the time to reply!
I will wait for the appoint on thurs and see what they say.
So i've got my results here and this is going to sound awful but i'm a little bit dissapointed. When she said 'small' I didn't realise she could mean this small..........4.6mm, at first I read it as 4.6cm but that would mean trouble.
I believe under 5mm they don't even do anything?
Shame as I had hoped that this might of been the cause of my abdominal discomfort and that they would remove it.
Any advice on what they 'might do' if anything?
