Gallbladder removal side affects after 3 years

I had my gallbladder removed over three years ago and I am not sure if my drastic increase in weight and bloat stomach (from 25" to 37" in one year) could be related to the gallbladder removal. Everything I read refers to people who have recently had theirs removed. My GP originally put it down to IBS but medication for that has not helped? I've had scan and nothing shows up? Anyone got any advice or suggestions?

Hey Jane!

Im sorry to hear about what your going through.

I had my gallbladder removed just over 2 years ago and I was pain free for nearly 1 year but then Im having the exact same pain I was when I had my gallbladder.

The docs have done loads of tests but they come back normal so it has ruled alot of things out. They did question whether its IBS but I really dont think it is!

Ive been told to try out a TENS machine to see if its anything to do with the nerves, so maybe ask if you could try a TENS machine?

Good luck :-)

Hope to hear something back

Hello smoo21

Thanks for your advice. I am seeing my gp on Monday to discuss again and about seeing a dietician. Lucky for me I had no pains, gallstones were detected on a scan and was told best to have gallbladder removed to prevent future problems and to see if helped with bloating and acid reflexes. I am the same as you test after test after but nothing - so frustrating !

Hey!

Your quite welcome, we all need to find out whats causing the problem.

Good luck on Monday and I hope that it goes ok for you.
