Gallbladder surgery 2 wks still suffering is this normal?

Had gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago but every time I cough, sneeze or bend over I feel like Im being cut from the inside out with no anesthesia. I was told by doc that this is easy surgery and 1 to 3 wks healing time. Yet its still very painful. Am I experiencing something normal or should I go to doc, I fell and my ankle torn legiments so really cant get out. Please give me some input on your experience. Thanks so much.

It’s perfectly normal to still be in pain after only 2 weeks. It can take a long time to heal internally. Listen to your body and rest. You will start to improve. I had my gallbladder removed in July, and it took about a couple of months before I felt totally better and strong, but the pain I had previously from the gallstones had gone straight after surgery! The pains were healing pains, and I knew I would get better. Take care.

Hi, don't be in a rush, it takes along time to get back to normal. Some people heal very quickly others don't it all depends on your body. It was 3 weeks before I went back to work and even then you need to be really careful on lifting and stretching. Even though the outside heals quickly the insides take alot longer and don't forget that your body has to learn how to cope without a gallbladder. It can take anything from 3 - 6 months to heal properly and upto a year to feel back to normal depending on your situation before.

Rest up, take it easy and look after your body it will get better but give it time.

Take care

Hi

Try placing a pillow on your stomach as this will make it easier to cough or sneeze.

The pain will ease up soon. Mine's took 3 weeks for the pain to slightly decrease (2 operations for gallbladder surgery)

Yes pain is normal from what I've heard and some severe pain too. Everyone's pain tolerance and body's response to pain is different. Some recover faster than others. Hope it improves. If it doesn't and your concerned, call your doctor. Takes care. Prayers for faster healing ))
