has anyone ever been none to have 2 gallbladers? if so is it posable to have one removed and Dr. no to know about the other? and if no is it ever been knone that one grow back?
No, I have never heard of two gallbladders. Since your gallbladder has one job to do ,I would not see the purpose of having two of them.
Why have you asked this ?
I am guessing you are still experiencing pains after removal.
A gentleman did post on here that after removal your liver has to do more work . And that certain foods put a strain on the liver to produce more bile... Causing aches in the right side under rib and in back ... That made sense to me ...and I do notice if I have a very rich fatty meal I get that ache just like my gallbladder ache.
but if it's worse than that get back to gp. Lots of other things cause similar pain to gallbladder gastritus, ulcers, the list goes on.....
hope u get sorted ...
lodgically when the surgeon opened you up he would of seen you had two !!!!!!!
Do you have two gallbladder s? Have never heard of that. Update as why you ask then maybe easier to answer your Que as tion.
Yes, I asked my doctor and he said I may have adhesions. I also noticed eating certain things will cause the pain in my right side. But, I can laugh or move a certain way and the pain hits me in an excruciating way i nearly hit the floor! So, I need to get further testing to establish the real cause of this pain.
Though very unlikely, it appears someone wrote a report in a peer reviewed medical journal about multiple gall bladders. The artcle is old and not available on line.

I think it would be a miricle if one grew back. I wish, in this age of self donation of organ tissue to grow a new gall bladder on a scaffold, that we could get our gall bladders back. But I expect they are a very sensitive and precise muscular organ and it would be hard to make one that would function correctly by culturing it.
the reason i ask about this is that in 2004 i had a gastric bypass done and in 2008 i had a revision done to try to help loose weight. on first sergery i have paper work showing that Dr. took out Gallbladder durin gastric bypass and also have paper work that they sent it to lab For biopsy and gives dementions and all. A Few days ago i had pain in my stomic area and was asked if i had a Gallbladder and i told them no. but after 2 test done a sonagram and a CT scan it showes that i now have a porcelain Galblader and need to have it removed. soon. someone asked me if maybe i could have had 2 of them. that is why i ask has it ever been heard of? if not i think i need to find a Layer to help me get this surgery paid for that i have already paid for Before.my bigest prob. would be is i live in TN. and the surgery was done in OK.
