Gallstone

hi I’ve had severe gallstone pain for arround 2 to 3 days mostly all day awaiting for gallbladder removal his this normal dont normally have it lasting this long

If its severe,go to casualty you may have a stone in duct.they will check you out admit you if needed or give you strong pain relief.best wishes.

oh yes, that’s normal when ur gb needs attention. I’m currently waiting for mine to be taken out and the pain I get from it is constant at times, it can last for weeks at a time with brief respite. I have had lots of physical pain in my life from a severed aourta and broken bones, but I have never wanted to actually just die, like I have done these last few months coz of my gallbladder. All the very best to u, and let us know how u feel when you’ve had it out plse, dont just disappear coz u feel better, many of us will still be here, waiting for our relief.

yes I just feel like dying I’ve also got osteoarthritis in my hips which is painful cant wait till I get my gallbladder removed

When it rains, it pours. Chin up Gemma

gemma.
sorry to hear your in so much pain, my heart goes out to you.
ive been their done it, i was in agony for 3 years and was to scared to have mine out,per say,
i ended up with a gangreenous gallbladder and nearly died,
now post op 2 years 2 months im still in pain nearly all day every day , and yes its a worry extreme to be honest but and i have still pale light colour stools which scares me.
but yes , i wanted to just die really i did and now i feel like ilive a half dead life, just waiting you know .
but yes the pain is unreal .
i agree with townko advise.
and all i can say is make your gp pay attention to your white blood cell count , normal is 4 to 11 when it starts rising above this you are in trouble , that was my findings.

gemma oh by the way i also have ostio in both knows and my left hip thats come since having mine removed though and i agree thats pretty painfull too ,

kevin.
you also need to keep an eye onyr white blood cell count too , best of luck.

I find it incredible that no one at all apears to read the posts about dissolving gall stones? Why are all gall stone sufferers so keen to have their gall bladder removed when that is not the only option to participate in?

Hi there,
Do u have any experience of having that done? from what I’ve read it seems that is only a temporary solution as once you’ve had even a single stone the chances are that you’ll continue to get them for the rest of your life, but that’s only what I’ve read.

Thx

kevin.
exactly my research.

Yes I think this is fairly normal.
Keep an eye out and notice if you become jaundiced. That is the point at which I would go to A and E.
Hope you have operation sooner rather than later.
Take care and keep in touch.

hi I have multiple why I need mine out

Of course I’ve had the course of Ursodeoxycholic acid and I’ve written several post about researching that very method which is there to be seen on the internet but the majority of gall bladder sufferers on this forum and no doubt off it seem very keen to get rid of their gall bladder which seems ridiculous to those who have successfully dissolved gall stones without an operation and it’s associated dangers to life.
And because a patient’s gall bladder has been removed it does not guarantee there will be no adverse symptoms.Adverse symptoms can and sometimes do occur after the gall bladder has been removed. There are plenty of these patients who still have problems after their gall bladder has gone.

As regards your suggestion the dissolution is temporary it is not. In any case a low dose of Urso can be taken on a specialists script to PREVENT stones from forming again.
Not many people are aware that a low fat diet in some individuals can cause gall stones to form simply because the gall bladder is not used enough and does not get the flushing of bile acids that it needs to stay clear of stones. All the information is on the various sites if only people researched it. Even lately I see the NHS is flushing some patients gall bladders when not long ago they poo pooed that well known procedure mainly carried out by the fitness fanatics.

Very Interesting, I have read that very low fat diets can have negative effects on the gb due to it not being used enough as u say, and tbh I had looked into requesting ursodiol but quickly decided against it after hearing so many times that having gallstones becomes a lifelong problem, so better to just get rid. Time for more research, thx v much.

All any of us can say is of our personal situation and I can say that I do have my gall bladder I do not have any symptoms and that it is three years approx since my horrendous problem when the ultrasound showed 5 stones one 17mm. As I said before that larger one was 10 mm after 6 months on the Urso which did not adversely affect me. The surgeon was the top quality in Nottingham. He congratulated me on the success. I have the letter which confirms all this and he would give me more if I required them. If any one chooses the knife it’s entirely up to them.

I’ve said it till I’m bored with it = research research research and research again because it’s all there if one looks for it.

and ile say it again,
its very early days for you sir and your stones will return and you will end up as did ias did many hundreds of thousands before you and i did having them return and having your gallbladder removed.
urso is not a new treatment its decades old they have been using it for decades on older patients who are either too ill or to frail or who simply refuse the opp to extend their life.
