Gallstones and planning pregnancy

Hello. I've been diagnosed with gallstones few weeks before giving birth. Gallstones attacks were crazy 2-3 a week and lasted for 6 months and then suddenly stopped. I was on waiting list for gb removal but by the Times surgery came I was free of pain for 3+ months so I refused. Been free from attacks for 18+ months. Can feel a bit of discomfort on the right side sometimes.

Now I'm thinking of getting pregnant but very scared about pain coming back and can't decide if I should remove it in advance or just manage if pain comes back in pregnancy and remove it after giving birth if it continues?

Any advice much appreciated

Also need to mention that I was avoiding bad foods for first 6 months but now for more than a year I'm eating whatever I want with quite a lot of choclotes but no pain for some reason

I'm not in your situation but awaiting my surgery for many months here in the UK and I understand that it you had gallstone attacks associated with hormones such as pregnancy, it may be advisable to undergo removal before you have another baby. As you might not be able to have treatment while pregnant and you cannot control the hormone effect as you might with diet when not pregnant. The best advice is to talk this over with your doctor though as they know your case best. Good luck.

Im in the exact situation as you! I just had a baby 11 weeks ago and my gall bladder pain disappeared. I also found out i had Gallstones when i was pregnant and it was terrible. I wanted it removed asap but i ended up having a c section so the doctor told me he wanted me to wait at least six weeks before i had surgery again. So i ended up extending the date. So by the time i had to go in for surgery i realized that i had been pain free for a whole week! So i postponed it untill the end of the month and guess what? No pain yay! So i called and told them i wanted to wait a little longer lol...

I do plan on having one more baby in the future but im scared i might get the pain again but i dont want to have surgery because i heard that you end up with very bad diarrhea so yeah im in the sane situation and dont know what to do hopefully someone can give us both some good advice
