Gastritis/h.pylori without pain (but with worsening shortness of breath)

Hi guys, I've been having a number of symptoms for the past 4-6 months which have increasingly become worse.

Most notably, I've had gastritis-like symptoms, including bloating, wind, stomach discomfort and reflux, which often comes with a sort of 'lump in the throat'/tightness in my throat that comes and goes. It can be helped a little bit by esomeprazole or ranitidine, and I'll often take wind-eze for the bloating.

The worse symptom for me though, is the shortness of breath. My private physician believed this was caused by the reflux but I'm still experiencing it without reflux symptoms and it's also become slightly worse since I last spoke with him. We've looked at a number of causes, I'm had a whole host of blood tests, chest x-ray, spirometry, heart echo and CT scan of neck, chest and abdominal. Only thing of note was some small abnormalities on my liver which the doctor performing was not concerned about. Said it's likely just cysts.

I've taken it upon myself to undergo a - mostly - gluten-free diet, I'm drinking lacto-free milk, mostly avoiding alcohol (and drinking gluten-free beer on the rare occasions I have a few).

The same GP I'm seeing has diagnosed me with general autoimmune disorder.

At this point, I'm not sure what the next step will be. I previously saw a discussion about h.pylori or gastritis causing quite bad breathing issues, and a lot of the symptoms I can tick. However, I'm having little stomach pain. It's a general discomfort, with occasional pain across breast-bone, lots of bloating and wind, and some severely foul-smelling farts. My insides appear to have really turned against me in such a short space of time.

Any of you guys experience similar symptoms/experiences?

Cheers

Wanted you to know that you are not alone Went thru all of the symptoms you describe It took years But I did develop severe acid reflux then after a few more years it was found I have something called Barrett Osoephagus and a Hiatal Hernia The one symptom that has yet to go way is the strain I have in breathing

Walking down my hall I'm completely out of breath In the morning I will wake up and have a hard time getting to my kitchen I must go back to GP for exploring why this happening I wish you the best I know how hard it is dealing with this

Ask for an endoscopy to look for h pylori and gastritis.

Thanks, Alley77.

It's been a really hard year, and I've had all kinds of symptoms coming and going.

I'm so miserable right now, the breathing problems have come on really suddenly with me. I was training for a 5K 3 months ago, now I'm out of breath just walking up the stairs or getting our of bed in the morning.

Next step will have to be a scope to check what's going on there and see if there's anything there causing these problems.

Fingers crossed that you get your breathing issue sorted too.
