I'm on an overseas trip seeing in-laws in France, before a Vietnam holiday next week. I have caught a gastro bug which is going around. Not even water is being held. The diver danger area is getting sore, but I don't believe I am having an attack. I have just popped an Augmentin Duo Forte. Laying off the Flagyl for now. I was hoping to save the AB's for Vietnam. I have Imodium, but know to try and avoid it, as it can supposedly backfire on DD people. Question - can anyone tell me if Diosmectite (Smecta) is a safe way to treat the diarrhoea in people with DD? Hi jcr, If I were you I wouldn’t take any chances and go along to your in-law’s GP.
You don’t want it progressing before going to Vietnam. It may pass but with you off to Vietnam soon I would get professional advice first.
