Theclack of balance started three months after my TA had been diagnosed and is going worse gradually,
Does anyone ever heard about these two health conditions happening in same time?

I was diagnosed with TA near the end of Oct last year \and with in weeks of taking a high Dosage of Pred my balance was effected. I do not beleive that it is TA that causing the problem it is Preds. I am now down to 3 mg and my balance still has not improved it has also effected my spelling which has seemed to gotten better. What is your dosaged now

Yes I had balance problems and then diagnosed with TA, seemed to settle after steroids but on reduction had a flare and balance problems started again, seem to me they go together!
83 known side effects as well, but nobody gets them all.
The 84th is not listed, known as 'Treacle Brain' or 'Steroid Brain Fog'

Temporal Arteritis = old name
Giant Cell Arteritis = new name
Reason, they discovered that it did not only include the Temporal Artery, but can and does affect all arteries, but mostly presents in the temporal artery,
That is why everyone diagnosed with PMR has to be told straightaway what the symptoms are for GCA.
Everyone should read the British Society of Rheumatologists on the Diagnosis and Treatment for both PMR and GCA.

You aren't the only person who claims their spelling has got bad on pred. I think my spelling is usually good, but typos, now that's another story! However I wonder if this is related: an inability to find the word I want sometimes. It's very distressing as I worry it's an early sign of dementia. But if it's just "pred brain" maybe it will get better some day?

Yes, they may go together for some patients.
It started for me after 3 months I had been diagnosed of Temporal Arthriritis.
If not for that I would be ok since my TA comes without any pain, so I would say is it is not so bad.
Throug the Forums there is tha opportunity to exchange our experiences, to know we are not alone and wha is specially great - the opportunity to help others.
