For several months I had severe breathing issues..pu on steroids last Dec...now taperig resetly on 2.5mg prednisolone, then decided to try and rule out angina....."bingo",,,I had an angiogram last week following emergeny admission to hospital....blood clot in artery...so now on so many different meds....sent home and have had to return twice, once to be kept oer night for monitoring...I am 79 years of age.Am covered in bruising which am told is from the bkood thining drugs...the awful tinglin adn weakness if frighteneing, but overnight stay 2 days ago and monitoring overnight thankfully showed a stability on ecg...I can do n more than rest as just walking appears to start palpitations.......anyone help on this....does this ease once used to medication...I am takingLansoprazole Aspirin.Prednisolone. Clopidogrel.Rampiril.Atorvastatin.Bisopropol Isorbide.Paracetamol.
Seems a lot of medication......any positive remarks to deal with this would be greatly appreciated.
I'm on a similar selection except your lansoprazole and aspirin - my pred is much longer term though and a bit more.
I promise it does get better - two and a half years ago I was shaky and tearful and apprehensive after 3 weeks in hospital when atrial fibrillation was found in addition to the polymyalgia rheumatica I take the pred for. I had super bruises - mostly then because they use heparin rather than warfarin when you need a procedure.
You have been through a big "insult" to your body and it will take a while to settle down - I was 20 years younger than you and was a mess.
With time your body will get used to the medication, they will probably tweak it a bit to make it better. Do tell them if anything worries you - if they don't know they can't change anything.
You will get stronger every day as you get moving again, even a few steps repeated over and over again is good for you, you don't have to "go for a walk". It's a bad time of year - not a lot of sun but if there is any try to get outside for a few minutes, it makes such a difference. And keep cheerful - again, I know that is easier said than done.

Thank you Eileen....for encouragement...never had high blood pressure until recently, so was rather shocked...Never been on so many medications at the same time,,,and body seems to react with me feeling quite unwell after the first batch of medication each day, but early days yet, so know I must perservere...it is encouageing to know it will become easier....thankyou for your advice,,,,it has been taken on board.......Mary
Just a quick point - are you on aspirin and blood thinners together? My ex-partner had a blood clot whilst in hospital following surgery for something non heart related and they put him on warfarin but expressly told him not to take aspirin whilst on it.
