looked like i cut myself shaving after 3days noticing stayed same. a couple days later i had what looked like a rash and the lips were swelled. the dr said it looked like folliculitis. bought a wellknown herpes at home test. was+ for oral herpes but not genital herpes. now august never had another “breakout”. recently went to my obgyn for a bacterial infection and rec. was+ for hsv-1 but not for hsv-2 but said prev. had a breakout. read mono can mess up results. can antibiotics create a false positive? should i get tested again?
It doesnt look like a typical herpes outbreak. Both hsv1 and hsv2 can occur genitally. Has the area ever been swabbed or just blood tests? Is it painful?
they said i wasnt able to be swabbed but ever since this happened it hasnt come back. the first time i got a test it was negative for hsv2 but i have hsv1 because ive had coldsores in the past. but the second time i got the test it said that i had antibodies in the past but it was actively negative. i feel like it xouldve been a false positive because ive also have had mono

It honestly could be something bacterial or fungal. Due to a bad razor, friction and heat. Or it could be yeast. Have you tried any over the counter products?
With herpes usually it will be 2-21 says post exposure but some people never have a outbreak and then all of a sudden.
yeah it finally went away im just scared it could be hsv2 when it doesnt exactly look like it. since im an athlete it seems to feel itchy down there when its very hot but i dont have bumps
it dont look like herpes more like irritated hair follicles from shaving
Definitely something fungal then. If heat is making it itchy. You may need something internally like a pessary.
what about the bumps on the outside?
the red bumps on the outside look like they have been caused by shaving and the hair follicles have become a bit irritated as the hair has started growing back the spots on the inside if they are itchy it could very well be like the person said above a bit of thrush ...have u had any clumpy cheesy looking white discharge thats thick ?? it usually smells like bread or beer ...if u have no discharge inside then it may well just be external thrush for which u can buy cream for from a pharmacy
u also said u have had the spots 6 weeks herpes dosnt hang around for that long typically which also makes me think that its not herpes

i think the best thing to do is a retest if anything it will put your mind at rest and then think no more of it but they dont look like herpes to me
ugh please pray for me.. and i dont think i had bad discharge when rhis happened. i just took a oic of it because i wanted to remember what it looked like. never had another "breakout" but sometimes i get itchy when im itchy but i dont have bumps or anything so im confused.
