I recent got diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus 1. I have never had a cold sore in my entire life although my BF gets them all the time. I did contract the virus from him. He gave it to me on my genitals and now he also has it on his genitals too. A lot of people think once u have it orally you are immune but that is not the case. I am wondering if there's anyone out there who has HSV1 genitally? If so, how many outbreaks do you have a year? Do you take medication? I take valacyclovir daily but people are telling me it's not ok to take meds everyday but I don't want to risk having an outbreak. I don't know what it "feels" like BEFORE they come because I've only had one outbreak.. Help (( I am calling for a friend who has genital herpes.
Aww hugs. I was devastated when I found out I had HSV1 so much so I cut myself off and went into a depression. What a waste of time! It's so common. Did you know your BF had HSV1. Just keep healthy and happy.
I'm in the same situation you once were. Did you stop having oral Sex, and or kissing?
I wasn't in a relationship but I have done both since and it has been fine. Its just rough sex that isn't good for me (. You will be fine as you both have it
Take lysine supplement
Put drops of apple cider vinegar in the infected area - it will pop out easily or lessen, you can try lemon too.
During outbreak put drops before taking a bath atleast 15 mins before.
Wash it with aloevera oil mix with water.
Put drops of apple cider after.
Stay healthy -sometimes outbreak occur even you eat healthy foods.

Do you have it orally or genitally? But yes we knew. He had thought a bump on his lip was a pimple, it was very small and went away quickly so he still thought nothing of it.
Yes its soooo common especially because of oral sex. I have it down below. I still feel a bit down about it, and it preoccupies my thoughts a bit. Its a very common virus. I got it from oral sex . You are lucky you have a partner. Just don't get stressed out about it. (Easier said than done )
