i was diagnosed about 4 months ago and i get outbreaks approximately every 2 weeks. its terrible and making me so depressed. does this happen to anyone else? i take lysine daily. i tried antivirals but they made me constipated so i stopped. i feel hopeless
Sorry to hear this dude, I have hsv2 too and I almost have an outbreak every week.
I took Acyclovir the first time but the side effects were terrible.
I am now using valtrex, at the beginning I felt tired but, after few days no more tiredness. plz talk to ur Dr. and he can prescribe the best medicine for u. Also, ask him about supressive therapy.
Bear in mind that being depressed will increase the likelyhood of recurrent outbreak. so try to relax, make ur self busy doing ur best hobbies, do sport or try meditation.
I think ur constipation is related to ur depression as it is a main trigger for IBS.
