my doctor called me recently to tell me I had genital herpes show up positive in my bloodwork. I dont show any symptoms and I’ve only ever had one partner my whole life. we’ve been together for 4 years and he’s the only person i have ever dated and im the only person he has ever dated. it has never showed up in my bloodwork before. he tested negative to the virus after i told him to get tested but it doesnt make sense to me at all? how can it show up positive for me if i havent had more than one partner? i have never had sex with anyone else, kissed anyone else or even touched anyone else. im just so confused
Did you test positive for hsv 1 or 2? You should re take the blood test in another 6 months dear and if it is still positive it could just mean that you have the anti bodies for it and it’s lying dormant in you. And it could just be the cold sores you get on your mouth I honestly would not stress to bad about it, just please get re tested again. xx
my doctor only said genital herpes he didnt say if it was HSV 1 or 2. i never got cold sores near my mouth and still havent . my doctor said not to worry if i dont have symptoms but im worried it even showed up in my bloodwork at all? i made an appt to get restested i hope it may have been a mistake
