So my gf and I both got genital herpes, I was to believe that we were both virgins. Is it possible to contract herpes if you have both never been sexual active?

Sorry. Just read genital. Either someone had oral sex or id say someone is lying. BUT it is possible to be born with herpes if your mother has it & had an outbreak during birth.
Yes we had done oral many times before we actually had sex. But the first time it flared up was just on our genitals
Even if you never had a flare up orally you can still have it & transfers it genitally.

If there are no sores on your lips , you can’t transmit herpes to your genital only if you are boutha have an outbreak and you feel your lips
Tingling and until it’s scabs oversnd heal that’s when it’s contagious. If oral cold sores was contiguous like that den then half the world have hsv1 genitally and that’s not the case.
He/she most of had an outbreak on his lips and was so mild they didn’t notice or they have genital herpes and one didn’t know but yoy cant get oral herpes to your genital if they are no sores there. Thank you! I am in school for nursin and we are learning these things
That’s why they inform people who have cold sores on they lip not to have oral sex until the cold sores are completely healed. You’re getting genital herpes and oral herpes mixed up. Hsv2 is what can be transmitted even without outbreak but if you use condoms and take your meds your chances are low from catching the virus
I’m not sure where you got your info from. But hsv-1 & hsv-2 can both be spread with or without an outbreak, there are people who never have an outbreak & they still spread it. Hsv-1 & hsv-2 can be either place (oral or genital) so no I’m not confusing anything. although it is less likely to spread when your not having an outbreak it is VERY possible to do and happens often.

Idk where you getting your info from , probably from google but cold sores can’t be spread without outbreak. I know a lot of people with cold sores and a close friend her boyfriend has it n he always performing oral on her when he doesn’t have an outbreak and she does not have hsv 1 nor hsv2 so idk where you’re getting your info from but hsv 2 in the other hand can be transmitted without outbreak but chances are lower with condom and if that person is ok medication. If that was the case where herpes spread without outbreak den I think the whole world would have herpes.
Yes hsv 2 can be genital and oral but very rare cases where hsv 2 is oral.
You should really do some homework and research before you speak about things you don’t know about. I have hsv-1 Genital. Transferred from my boyfriend who had oral hsv-1 & was NOT having an outbreak nor did he ever, he didn’t know he had it. & my research ? No google for me, I graduated, took my NCLEX & work as a nurse. 😊 I won’t argue on a post. My info is all 100% correct. As for you, make sure you do your reaearch so you stop spreading false information. You’ll have people spreading it with all that false info.
Yeah his outbreak was probably so mild that he didn’t even notice it and you probably didn’t even get it from him and had it for a while but I’m not arguing with you. Google ain’t gon help you. You know how many people have cold sores ? Lmao and plus my boyfriend has cold sores as well and we been dating for 3 and a half years and I get tested every 3 months and still no herpes 1/2 so what are you talking about ? Lol maybe your case is rare
Cuz you do know you can get oral herpes not only on your lips right , it could be inside your mouth your noise ,
