I have recently been diagnosed with genital HSV1 (specifically anal herpes) and am currently just about done healing from my first outbreak after being prescribed Valtrex. I am a gay male. My question is: is it possible for me to spread the virus through mouth-to-mouth contact or by administering oral sex to another male partner (since it is genital HSV1 and only on my anus)? I’m trying to be as careful as I can be and just want to make sure I get all the facts right because I’d hate to have someone else go through the same thing that I sadly have to for the rest of my life.
