Genital Warts - What should I do?

I noticed some odd bumps about a month ago. I got them looked at at a clinic and the Dr wasn't sure what they were. He said they might be genital warts but it was a bit hard to tell. He didn't reccomend I have treatment, perhaps because he wasn't sure what they were and perhaps because, even if they are warts, they are quite small.

What I would like to know is:

Can I continue to have sex as normal while I have these? (Passing the HPV to my partner - assuming that's what it is - is not a particular concern as if I have it he almost certainly already has it too, in fact I may have got it from him.)

They are a bit uncomfortable, and sex no doubt would make this worse, is there anything I could do to prevent this?

How long would they take to go away by themselves? (If read both that they can take 2 years to go away, and that you shouldn't have sex again until their gone... but 2 years without sex does not sound fun at all.)

Is there anything else they could be? (Dr said they could be infected hair follicules, but I disagree as they do not respond at all to antibiotics.)

See another doctor,

Hi, It is important that you have a Doctor identify exactly what the bumps are - folliculitis, a rash, warts, or what ever.. Go to your local GUM clinic as they specialize in STI's. They should be able to diagnose the lesions and advise what steps to take accordingly. Good uck.

Agree with Matt & Charles: Seek second opinion from alternate doctor or gyne.

If the 'bumps' are not exactly identified and confirmed as genital warts or whatsover, then any further advice / comments won't be appropriate and accurate.
