Have been on Citrolopam for 6 weeks for Anxiety/Depression. I had a health scare and have been very frightened about my health.
I am 30, never smoked, dont drink. But i lost both my parents to cancer, they were in their late 50s but still. Through my investigations i have has Xrays, Ekgs, a colonoscopy and a CT scan (chest-abdomin-Pelvis), and blood work. All is clear, lungs good, organs good, no malignancies, bloods are super healthy, colonoscopy totally clear, ekg fine.
But, since i got my CT results, my breathing(which was the big problem) has gone, but since, my throat muscles feel constantly tight, and i feel like i am constantly swallowing. This morning i threw up, but it was just mucous, it is spring time and i am alergic to pollen but since my throat wont stop bothering me (its been a few weeks) im getting very tired. I beleive in my city i have been flagged as a hypochondriac by the hospital, as last time i went they seemed more annoyed than anything. My GP has me on 10 mg of cit, which i think is too low, so does my therapist, but he said he wants to give it more time to kick in. Im also on GERD medication, but have never really had symptoms of acid reflux.
Im worried i have throat, thyroid or esophogus cancer, though i acknowledge my liklihood is quite remote for all of these. I have been told my symptoms are similar to Globus which is an anxiety/depression phonomenon but what can i do?
Do i go back to my GP and ask for more tests? I guess an endoscopy is all that is left. But a clear CT scan should mean im fine.
Just so frustrated, when will the medication work? When will i feel normal again>
