Hi I haven't written in a while as in Ireland for five weeks. Had a lovely holiday gradually did more walking up to 6km a day hip achey in evenings but very disappointed with my back which is very stiff and painful especially in the morning this was the main reason I got my hip done . Able to walk for last 2weeks without crutch limp when starting off due to back pain. Able to kneel now socks and shoes still not easy 13 weeks now should I still be doing exercises?
The achey pain from hip that is there all day and night is gone so that's great seeing physiology team re my back in sept I think I have facet damage as feels like joints in my lower sacrum are collapsing when I try to sit down in the mornings loosens out with mobilising!
I don't regret having hip done but only 43 so know will need redoing at some time in the future.
Has anyone else had this result I font seem to have pain in any other joints and needed the op early due to operations for slipped ephysis when I was 12 but the back pain is still making me feel like I'm not able to be very active. Due to go back to work soon as midwife part time two long days a week n labour ward which could mean 12 1/2 hour shift without a break and in charge so constantly walking up and down the ward in and out of rooms responding to emergencies etc! I know I couldn't bend down quick to catch a baby that is keen to arrive!
So will see how I am this week with all the last minute back to school planning shoes to buy for three and some shirts did the rest on line at start of summer! If my back holds up will go back to work will have two weeks annual leave to take anyway so that gives me more time. I want to go back but don't want to fail at it and be disheartened
