I am starting to get used to my new knee. Being an artist, the shape of it is important to me. At the moment it's more rounded than my real one but it's still swollen. My physio says it will be the same in time.

I am 7 weeks post op and agree that my new knee does look more rounded that the other. Still get swelling from time to time and lately have noticed that I am getting some discoloration around the scar issue. Thinking maybe I'm pushing it a little too much and need to back off some.
Really? Sorry Caz but My left knee had TKR several years ago and truly has a shape of it's own, a bit rounded but is working just fine. My Right Knee is now 8 weeks old and I am certain that it too will have a shape of it's own but i don't care....as long as it works and there is no discomfort. Doesn't the shape depend upon the manufacturer of the replacement knee?
I am 7 weeks and my knee is still very swollen in places, and nothing like the shape of the other one, but I really don't care. I am sure some of the swelling will go in time, most of the scar has faded well, but still some discolouration at the top end and if I don't keep it well oiled it starts to pucker the skin, again I don't really care. The main thing is it WORKS, and works so much better than before the surgery. I wear trousers most of the time and I don't mind havig a somewhat misshaped knee if it is pain free and I can get out and about again!
