GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY / ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED

To start off, I am 34 year old male, 5'8" and weigh around 155. I am not on any drugs, medications, do not smoke and don't drink. About 2 years ago, I was on an inverted ab machine doing abs and slipped coming down, instead of centering myself on bench, I re-lifted myself up with my left side and immediately it felt like something went up under my left rib cage. I immediately stopped working out and went to my primary care doctor a week later. He thought a hernia and sent me to a specialist. After a CT and MRI was done, they said that they didn't see anything and told me to go to pain management. I then got a second opinion from another general surgeon and they didn't see anything either. I talked to a doctor on Live Health Online and just based on my symptoms said that it could be Abdominal Aorta so I am waiting on seeing a Vascular Surgeon. To fast foward, in the last 6 months, during the day I am dizzy and light headed and have constant pain daily below/under left rib. I recently took it upon myself and got blood work done which only showed high levels of Non -HDL Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol. When I lay on my back, within 30 min I will immediately wake up with both calves burning and a crazy irregular heart beat with pulsating/palpations near left rib and sometimes by belly button. If I lay on my stomach or right side, then I will immediately wake up due to similar symptoms but also feels like something trying to beat so hard and out of chest below left rib. What's crazy is that when I sit up and work in my office chair, I feel like a bump on left side above hip; but when I lay down at night, I cannot feel this bump. One night my BP was 80/45 with a 74 pulse. Any help is greatly appreciated and please ask me any questions. I have been logging a journal with symptoms and what I have been eating throughout day. Warm Regards, Lewis Linscott

That’s really low BP. How’s your breathing? Docs should be treating you as an emergency. Something’s wrong, you have an internal injury.

Yes I totally agree, downfall is when I sit up and during day, my BP is around 120/84 or normal. When I went to the ER, they checked my heart with an EKG and also checked me over for a blood clot in right leg. The downfall is, usually my symptoms get worse when I lay down and are on my back. My breathing is okay so far, but truly I am getting worse and worse over time.

Hi @Louie12 -

Have you had an xray done? Do you think it’s possible that after your incident with the ab machine maybe you had a rib pop out of place? I think I’ve heard this referred to as a floating rib (?) I don’t think this really correlates with the heart palpitations or some of the other symptoms but maybe the bump you’re feeling when you’re sitting? I’m just kind of shooting in the dark here, but the good news is that your CT and MRI came back normal so you can rule out a lot knowing that.
I hope you find relief soon!
Take Care,
Elizabeth
