Hi, so about 10 days ago i noticed white discharge (no smell) and a lot of itchiness. A few days after that i noticed pimple like bumps on my vulva, external labia (outside lips) , and some even around my butthole ( for a lack of better words). Anyway, i went to my GYNO and she tested me for it all (yeast infection, BV, herpes (swab and blood) ,etc. Turns out that i have BOTH a yeast infection and BV. I am getting treated for those and i am not worried about it at all. However, it also turns out that i am positive for Genital herpes but the HSV1 strain. She detected that through the swab test but i am negative on the blood test ( i guess this is very recent and my current boyfriend must have passed it on to me).
side note : my doctor did not prescribe me any antivirals for my herpes diagnosis because she said most likely, i will not need it. Should i still consider taking them?
Although i feel better now and im not as stressed for being positive, i havent found any information about HSV1 happening on the genitals.
- My outbreak was pretty bad. I had many bumps and pain was a solid 7 due to urinating. How likely is it that ill have another outbreak?
- Will my outbreaks only be on the genitals or orally as well considering that HSV1 is an oral herpes?
- considering the fact that my current partner is the one who gave it to me, can we still have sex unprotected? How long do i wait to have sex again?
Any other information about Ghsv1 would be great!!!
