So basically I'm wondering if it's safe to perform oral sex on someone whilst my genital herpes is flared up? My mouth etc isn't affected, so I'm thinking it wouldn't cause any harm? Or am I completely wrong?
I have never had on oral herpes issue. I don't see any harm for this. If there is no break out on or in your mouth I think its fine.
I think you'll find that it's safe. As I understand it's through skin on skin contact from the genital area if infected or if you're shedding the virus. Not from saliva from your mouth if you do not suffer from oral herpes. Otherwise you wouldn't even be able to kiss someone on the lips if you where experiencing an outbreak down below. Being infected in your genitals, has nothing to do w your mouth. The virus does not travel up and down your spine to each location
