Even on cit for 4 months and it's really helped with the panic but I am getting palpitations everyday with them have some before it but not everyday so I think it's the cit that is the cause then seen online that they can cause the doctor confirmed has anyone had this and what's the best way to come off it am on 10mg at 7:45am everyday thanks please reply feel am the only one who writes things and gets no reply
hi ive never experienced palputations caused by the citalopram but panic attacks and anxiety problems alone can cause paiputations id stick to what your doing if your hell bent on coming off them but id be cautious as coming off them too quick could make your problems return

Hi! Since being on Citalopram, I have experienced palpitations and I have never had them prior to starting Citalopram. I have been to the ER twice and to a cardiologist because of it, and they could not find anything wrong with my heart.
On day 5 of the medication my palpitations lasted about 10 minutes and my blood pressure was through the roof, but everything returned back to normal. I think we are having panic attacks- which need no cause, they can happen randomly. However, because of this side effect, I have decided to stop taking the medication by tapering-off slowly.
While tapering-off, my doctor has prescribed Hydroxyzine which is a sedative, and it has helped a lot with the anxiety caused by Citalopram.
