Hi there Hip Oppers

Are there any golfers out there who have had a THR and can let me know how soon I should expect to be able to get back to playing again.

Three months I think, maybe on the putting green beforehand. Tony

Hi Colin,

I had THR on my left hip June 30th and THR on my right hip, October 28th, I was playing golf 6 weeks after both surgeries, as I am now aware, I am the exception to the rule, I've healed very quickly and was given "full" medical clearnace 6 weeks after initial surgery, I played 3 times already, I actually walked 18 holes on Sunday, which now, I think was a mistake and I pushed myself too much, I've been very sore this week, I will continue to play golf, but I'll wait a few more weeks before I walk 18 holes.  Good luck and if you have any add'l questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, take care....!!

Thanks for the reply. Blimey you r doing well. I had my LTHR on 22 Oct but don't think I could manage to walk 9 let alone play. Were you using a buggy for the first couple of games and were you managing a full swing?

I Had mentally programmed end of March for my comeback but you've made me think I may be able to play sooner.
