I was on a similar supportive forum to this for about 10 years while following advice re clothing etc and steroid cream from gynae consultant. Ihave pleasure in telling you that after my dermatology  consultant prescribed Oliatum baths not only did my excema and Lichen planus clear up but I no longer had trouble with the L ichen Sclerosis. Up until that time I had been advised to only freshen myself with cream, no water! Oh boy! HOW I enjoy those deep bubble, unmediated baths now. cheesygrin

O f course everyone is different, but I felt it right to share with you. OK?

Your post sounded so promising.  I looked up the ingredients.  Alas, it is described as "toxic".  False hope one more time.  But still continuing to enjoy being 'normal' again.  Yet, cannot complain.

I am SO glad that I never need it now! I am 80 years old and was brought up to trust doctors as being one step higher than God regarding wisdom! for me, all's well that ends well, but in future I shall investigate all prescription content! Thank you.

I used Oilatum baths for my newborn when he had excema, so not sure where this toxicity thing comes from.  It is an old product (my son is now 30).

I too find this very encouraging - and not at all sure about Oilatum being toxic. it's regularly prescribed for eczema etc. I shall discuss with my Gp

I looked up Oilatum ingredients in google search. If others had used it with success, it will be good to know.  Till then, I am not going to experiment with it yet.

Hi,

I was prescribed Oilatum Shower gel by my Dermatologist in January this year to use instead of soap to help with my LS, and I have noticed a huge difference since using it, and the rest of my skin is less itchy too. Just wish the tubes were bigger :-)

I've been using it for well over a year and its definitely helped me I apply it before I get in a bath or shower then apply water there as well.

I've copied this and will take it to my GP. Who knows how many patients could use this.  How much is it?

I found it online at Canada's Shoppers Drug Mart, but the store I went to this week didn't have it and had never heard of it. So, maybe in the big city next week I'll find some.
