good news

Its been four years. November of 2008 I came down with what I know now are typical symptoms of PMR . I was finally diagnosed January of 2009 and started on 30mg of Prednisone. Instant relief. Then I found this discussion group. Great group of people.

30 days ago I was able to stop the pred. with no symptoms.

I know PMR can return but what a great feeling to finally be off prednosone.

I am only posting this so other PMR sufferers can know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Good wishes to all fellow PMR sufferers and try to stay positive

My symptoms were limited to lower back pain stiffness and pain and thigh pain.

What were yours?

Thank you for sharing this with us. Regards

Severe shoulder pains, could not lift my arms above my shoulders, lower back and butt pain, weight loss, depression and a general not well feeling.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to endure all that. But thanks for the encouraging message.

So happy for you! It must be the best feeling ever.

i was down to 7.5 mgms pred but having a minor

flair so have gone back to 8.5mgms. Diagnosed

19months ago.

Very warm wishes💐

Well YOU've been very quiet!!!! That is great news and I hope it all goes to plan for good now. Somewhere there is a thread for people who have got to zero pred...

Here it is

Discussion for users achieving zero predisone:

Hello odiecass, how great you must be feeling. Thank you for your words of support. I wish you all the best for your future. Regards, tina

Congratulations.  Lovely to hear good news on here.  Presumably you will be joining Club Zero.

Good luck for the future.  Keep in touch to tell us how you are getting on.

Regards from Constance. 💐

Congratulations!! Hopefully all of us will get to where you are one of these days. Here's to hoping you never have a relapse!!!!

Great to hear your good news story.  We all need to hear the successes, it encourages us to keep going on our own PMR journey.

Very best wishes coming your way💕🌸

Congratulations, what a wonderful positive story.  I know for sure that there is light and some tunnels are longer than others.  I am hoping my tunnel is not so long.  Was diagnosed last November and started on 20mg of pred and am now down to 7.5mg, will propably reduce by .5mg soon.  Thank you for posting and yes this web site has been a God send.  Regards Pat

Thanks Odiecass for sharing your good news. Wondeful ! All the best for a happy, healthy future.

How lovely, a target or near enough we hope to aim for...nice to hear positive news!

So very happy for you!!! Happy dance!

Bless you for sharing with us, it does give me hope and encouragement!

May you never experience this PMR again!!!

Yea! Yea! Yea! I'm still dancing in my head for you! 😃

Thank you all for the good wishes.

When I first was diagnosed with PMR the only information that seemed current and correct came from this site. I didn't contribute that much but I read it every day, sometimes more than once, and always picked up something new.

I even met a future friend Ray. He was also another male PMR sufferer, which is rare and also an avid bicycle rider like me. Ray passed away a couple of years ago, massive heart attack while riding his bike near his home in Cornwall. We always said we would ride together on my next trip home to England, we never did but I will always remember him from this site.

Well again thank you all for your encouragement over the years.

Who did he post as odiecass? One of the sad things about most forums is that when someone disappears from posting you never know why. The NE of England support forum is lightly different as many of us have also become friends outside the forum so you usually hear when someone is having a particulalry bad time or has died - but if someone posted and their family knew nothing of it they just simply fade out of sight.

Thank you Eileen, just come back from Rheumy and he has agreed that I can get steroids down slowly. He thinks I might need steroid injections with hip and shoulder pain but yahoo, can cope with that X
