Google has become my worst enemy

Ever since my chest pain started I have been trying to figure out what's wrong with me. I started googling every little pain. I have went from thinking I have heart trouble, to bile duct cancer, liver problems, a brain tumor, and stomach cancer. I have been told I have costochrontitis and don't have it. I have been told I have musculoskeletal issues and an ulcer, and acid reflux. Part of my toenail is a purplish gray color and I wonder if that's cancer but I could have just dropped something on my foot cause I do that all the time. My doctor has ordered a lot of tests for me and I am grateful for her but here I am still googling. Now I'm worried about the flashes I see in my eyes which could be a vitreous gel issue or retina issue or it could be so.ething terrible. How do you stop yourself from googling once you've started? I've always had panic attacks but I've never been a hypochondriac but I'm starting to feel like one. Please help.

Google will be the death of us all it done the same thing to me when my anxiety first started if u can name it Google has told me I've had it these are just everyday feelings we have it's our anxiety that makes us take notice of feelings in our bodies just dnt let Google tell you anything if you have a problem ask your doctor good luck

Google and the internet and general aren’t your worst enemy when it comes to health concerns. I just gonna done replying to a similar post yesterday, and I said sometimes I wish I lived in a world world google didn’t exist, or that they at the very least weren’t allowed to post health information online. Unfortunately that not the case, and it seems like once you start looking stuff up, it can be hard to stop. My advice to you is to google “why to not google health symptoms” the next time you have the urge to try to diagnose yourself. You also have to keep in mind that the worst case scenarios are usually the things that come up first. There are tons of minor issues that can mock symptoms of serious diseases, which is why you need to go to your GP when you are concerned about something, not the internet. Good luck and know you are not alone! We are all technically dying, so try to enjoy the time you have on this earth instead of wasting it by worrying about things you can’t control. I know it’s easier said than done, I’m right there with you

***google and the internet in general ARE your worst enemy

***I just got done replying to a similar post yesterday

Hopefully you can figure out the rest of my typos lol

This honestly sounds like me, started as minor chest pain and now I can't stop thinking of all the problems im having after going on google.

I probably do have bad anxiety as ive had this chest pain for over two months and can't stop worrying about it, but it probably is just anxiety and im making it out in my head that its all sorts.

I just have to believe that the GP's are right and if the tests are all clear then its fine. Im trying my hardest but it is difficult as you probably know.

We just have to try our hardest to get on with it, even although its hard, but you just have to stay positive.

If you have a problem with your body, you need to take it up to a doctor. Instead of Googling how you feel every second, Google why you SHOULDN'T Google your symptoms. It will give you plenty of reasons not to. Doctors go to scho for many years for a reason. Believe what they say. Just like a mechanic knows a car, a barber knows hair,a doctor knows the body. & when they tell you your okay accept it.

Good luck xoxo

Thanks you for your response. Yes a lot of symptom match so many other things and Google knows all of them. Lol

You are so right the word to comes up first and I want to spend life enjoying it. Thank you for your response.

I think I got them figured out. My phone e changes words on me all the time,!

I've gotten better the last couple of days as far as the panic goes. Lexapro is helping and I pray a lot. I also talk to family, friends, and people like you on these forums and I find it really helps to know others have these issues.

Thank you. I'm trying.
