Hi, I'm finally going to have a left THR next Tuesday after being cancelled back in March due to them not telling me to stop taking the contraceptive and pill. I'm feeling really nervous and can't remember what I'll need to pack! Help ☺
hi
glad you have a date. i packed a pair of slippers with backs on as they are more secure and non slip soles. nightdress, dressing gown, usual wash bag andmakeup bag. I packed a maxi dress to go home in. I also had a pair of flat shoes with backs to go home in. my cleansing wipes were useful too as
you are bedbound for a little while. also my kindle.
good luck
Hi Steph,
great news on your op.date!! as for what to pack, well if your in the UK you will only be in for 3 days, so I took 3 sets PJ'S bootie slippers and toitetries, I went in wearing leggings and a sweatshirt, came home in track suit ( nice and lose and easy to put on) as for foot wear, well they say take a larger pair of shoes in case of swelling, I just wore pumps, but trainers with elastic laces would do, it's not a fashion show lol, laptop for the evenings and chatting to us on here!! that should do it,oh and take your own tbags and /or coffee they just can't make decent t or coffee, lots of luck,
love ,
Lynne x

Hi Steph,
I came home on Saturday after my op last week. The orthopaedic ward I was in preferred us to dress every day and I, personally, found it easier to wear loose fitting skirts and tops which also made it easy for x-rays and physio.
Words cannot express my "shock" on waking up painfree, apart from the op pain after being chair bound for 5 months. In fact I still move my hip to make sure it's really real.
You are going to be so excited and have such relief from that awful constant pain.
All the best and I'll be thinking of you
Regards, Carole
