gradual shoulder paralyisis

A week ago I came from my gym workout with a tight neck and shoulder on right side. I swam 1km a few days later. A few days later the deep shoulder pain was worse and i went for phsiotherapy/massage. the next day was worse again. It has been a week and I now have no arm /shoulder flexion or abduction. Elbow to hand is fine but I can't raise my arm. I am waiting another week for my MRI appointment. Either brachial nerve damage or torn rotator cuff has been mentioned by my local doctor. I am freaking out that this could be some sort of permanent shoulder paralysis?? help please. I am 50 yr old male.

Hi Mark,

I went out in My Daughters car and it was so uncomfortable and when I got home my neck/shoulder hurt so bad I went to bed.  I have just got up and it is still there like a stabbing pain, wish you well and hope you get it sorted , mine is affecting my arm/neck/ shoulder, Keep Well

Hi Mark,Do you have arthritis by chance?I had same thing, they

Found that a bone spur had cut my major tendon in two.Ortho

wanted to do surgery but I opted for a cortisone shot instead

and I am fine for 6 years now.Just a thought to ease your mind.

Good luck to you!

ultra sound did show a lot of spurs....im hoping maybe your scenario is better than nerve damage.. my mri is scheduled in 3 days so i will know more then. thanks for your reply.
