Great News!

Hi All, Hubby had his post RARP checkup yesterday. He is cancer free all contained within the prostate with good margins and  PSA undectable. Surgeon really pleased with his progress in other areas too. So after 9 long weeks of waiting, it is a big sigh of relief. Thank you all for your support and advice it has been invaluable. Xx

Great news auntie. Your hubby has achieved the most important outcome, cancer completly removed. You guys can move on with your life. Sure, he may have some residual complications due to the surgery, that hopefully will pass in time. And of course, you supported each other through a difficult time., which is what a good relationship is all about.

Good news indeed

what was the pathology result regarding the Gleason score?

Hi Barney, Gleason remained the same 3+4 but his tumour was upgraded to a pT2C. They also found that the cancer was in both lobes where we were told it was only on one side initially, so feel very lucky that it was detected by a routine blood test.

The PSa test in your case( and I think in many other instances) came through saying the prostate is not happy for "some" reason...go find that reason. You did, and a life saving decision was made.

Yes you were lucky.

3+4 is intermediate level PCa, but T2c is not the best Dx, so you did well detecting it by a routine test.

Thanks for updating us. It's good to know when things work out well. Sighs of relief all round, I should think!
