GREEN USED TO BE MY FAVOURITE COLOUR

It is now seven months since D.D reared it's ugly, painful head, when i was

"shown the door " of the hospital. with a feeling of dread, a sadly lacking, diet ,

sheet still hurting. and after five no food days, hungry, but afraid to eat anything

So,I started Divi Diners ,before I died of malnutration.

Thankfully help was at hand, and we, gathered. and helped each other,

Now, I find that the Five -a-day is sadly lacking in my diet, and it is noticable

I used to be able to dig concrete with my nails, but now they are a tender.ten

fragile lot. that break and crack. I put this down to the lack of greens and fruit

that Are no longer part of my diet.

The question is, are you all suffering the same probs, and have any of you

got around it?

No help is offered, in the shape of a dietician, no chance to discuss it with

anyone from the hospital, as I was not invited back for a follow up chat.

Are there any vegetarians amongst us with DD ? If there are .what do you

eat ?? I really miss  vegetables,.I used to eat loads, and the state of my

nails proves that My body needs them.

Christmas dinner will be an obstacle course

Hope you are all well

Jacqueline

Hi, I eat cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower, all well cooked. Wind is a bit of an issue, but so far that's all.

Hello, i'm desperate for sprouts, spring onions , lettuce  onions ,white

and red, I do cook cauli until it disintegrates. but i hate soggy veg at

the best of times From eating veg and fruit daily it's a catastrophy. There  is no substitute for a plate of veg. Whinge over.

Serious now ,have you noticed any difference in your nails?

I'm going to nag you Alex. Do you eat any peas or green beans or

peppers ,and did anyone medical give you reasons for not eating

vegetables ?

Hi, quite honestly the only advice I have had has been through this forum. I was getting desperate to understand how to manage things and read various threads here. I took the decision to cut out ALL skins, pips, seeds, nuts and spicy food and I feel better for it. I haven't yet had the nerve to reintroduce things, so as yet no peas, beans or peppers. I think you could roast peppers and skin them, and I'm thinking of trying that. I eat leafy veg because I believe they are soluble fibre and Ok.

I admit to being bored by it, but I was fed up with DD controlling things. This way I feel in control. I'm not keen on `Caulicolons` theory of laxative use, but it works for him so I'm not knocking it, he's controlling his DD his way too. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello, Alex, we seem to be going down the same road, with avoiding

things with hard bits. I started taking probiotic  capsules and Vitamin

D over 3 months ago, and haven't had a twinge since

A German doctor wrote about D.D on a forum I stumbled across.

Haven't done cabbage yet , scaredy cat, but ,I have just tried cutting

the tops off sprouts, above the stalky bottom . no probs.

Laxatives are a no-no for me as well, just causes muscles to start

to be lazy

I used to put cardamon seeds in rice, and crack the pods, now, I

soak them in boiling water and the water . into the rice ,just as good,

without the danger

tell me if you try any other forbiddens
