Does the feeling of being groggy improves on 30mg?I am on my day 4 on 15mg and hate this feeling. I used to be on Mirt in the past but can’t really remember now.
I'm on day 7 of 15mg and feel the same. Hope it does pass.
Hi Dom, I am glad I am not the only one....but it’s awful we have to feel like this! I am not sure what’s worse- feeling depressed or feeling depressed, groggy and spaced out! Did you take anything before? I feel I have been going round the circles for the past month.... Sertraline gave me a lot of energy but I could not sleep and felt exhausted. I am in the waiting list for counselling and starting from scratch with Mirt. I am also devastated depression came back after 6 wonderful years of my life. I know it will pass.... last time I was poorly for 7 months and nearly ended my life because I thought I would never improve. I was on Mirt for 5 months last time very quickly moved up to 45mg because I was so bad. Please keep me updated on your progress Dom! x
Hi. I never got up to 30 mg. Most I ever got up to was 11 mg. I have been told that higher doses (e.g., 30 mg and above) are less sedating as they start to affect the norepinephrine receptors and thus become more "activating." If you;re taking it for depression, higher doses may be needed. I am no longer on the drug. I tapered off after experiencing too many side effects. The drug made me super unmotivated. All I wanted to do was hang out in my recliner. I woke up every morning feeling like complete ■■■■, nausea, etc. I had trouble sleeping and eating so that is why the drug was prescribed to me. If you don't have a sleeping/eating issue, I suspect there are better alternatives for you other than Mirtazapine.
