I had a freak accident 19 years Go Memorial Day . Fell out of a van and crushed my shoulder beyond repair . Ended up having a prosthesis put in with a shoulder replacement surgery. My motion is t that great and I do live in pain . They said it would last only about 14-15 years. I’m only 53 years old now . Should I risk the surgery to relieve my pain and possibly have better mobility or just deal with what I have?
Had a total left shoulder replaced 19 years ago should I see about having a reverse shoulder surgery
Hi Lori,
53 is so young to settle for daily pain. My daughter-in-law’s father went through shoulder replacements both sides last year and says he is so glad he did....has ROM he hadn’t had in years and no pain after healing. He went to the TOP NOTCH shoulder surgeon in our area (same who did my surgeries in April). I think b/t finding the best surgeon and updated techniques, it would be worth your time looking into. All the best!
So decided I would call the dr that did my surgery and see what my options are, well he retired 5 years ago and took the records with him. I called the hospital where my surgery was to see about getting those records and can’t get anyone on the phone.
If it were me, i would just go ahead and schedule with the best surgeon you can find to have a consult. They can help get whatever records are out there.
