Well had my first physio today . On the plus side he was a blonde Australian Adam Levine look alike . But Aussies are tough and he put me thro some paces . Get off bed with no hands putting weight on bad leg .up some steps bad leg first using heel of bad foot to bear weight . Why am I using Zimmer not crutches ? Explained about the surgery and my very weak glut max and the fact I am transferring weight to other leg . His aim to get me off crutches ASAP. Knew his stuff and I gotta say tho it aches the bad leg feels a little more confident . He said u have to reactivate the brain cells to remember to use that leg and to tell ur body you can do it . Gave me exercises and back in two weeks ....
But the little girl in me wanted to say but it's only been 18 days .. I have had trauma .. Have mercy oh dishy Ozzie and lavish me with pity and praise ... Lol . Came home .. Felt more confident on leg but had mug of tea , back into lounge wear and Game of thrones .. Enough for one day !!!!
Haha that's you told. I've got my physio on 4th November so I'll wait for the outcome. So far I'm managing on one stick in the house but two outside. I'm now day15 post op. I can manage to naked light lunch and breakfast and wash up after me but just really slowly. I've cut down the meds but still really tired so I just nap when I want. Each day I'm getting stronger though. Stick in x
Well that will make physio alot more pleasurable for you.... great news that you feel more confident.. and 2 weekly you are lucky..... I am 10 weeks post op and had 3 physio sessions next one in a month....
Post code lottery on physio.... and no dishy Aussie for me.
oh hazel ...and you sooo deserve it ... the praise and lounging --
you did really good, girl -
cute or not, still be gentle with yourself, okay - listen to your body -
good that you feel more confident however try not to get cocky - I did and oh dear, that set me back -
please keep us posted how you are doing okay --- very valuable information for all of us ...
big warm hug
renee
He sounds tough, but I suppose at least he's good looking!!
Oooo yes Renee you hit it on the head . Way too cocky .. I was like Lazarus when I got home .. Abandon your one crutch and walk .. Now paying big time back on the sofa with a big dose of painkillers. ! Lesson learnt .. Don't let your first physio go to your head !
Yes Susan I agree I paid for my physio big time . Felt all geared up but physios can be brutal and when I got home I fell asleep in the sofa and feel really tired now ... So please take it easy on yours and take some pain meds . Cut down on mine too but by no means ready to give them up !! Good luck x

Don't see why there has to be a mad fitness rush. As you heal all will be developmentally-like ready to progress faster anyway..
