Had LAD Stent after 90% Blockage, why am I NOT feeling 90% better

I've heard people with major blockages say they feel so much better after getting that blood flow back, but that has not seem to be the case for me after having a 90% blockage in my LAD opened up! Am I missing something here? I actually feel tired a lot. Anyone experience anything like this? Little concerned.....

Are you on clopidogrel, aspirin and bisoprolol

Yes, plavix for blood thinner, aspirin daily and a low doze med for blood pressure.

How long ago did you have the stent placed, fairly recently

It depends on individual circumstances obviously but folks can start off feeling even worse than they did before, this is due to the healing process at the stent site

If the stent was placed some time ago then unfortunately it's become bunged up and you'll need another

I had the stent put in 5 days ago.

Have you had this procedure as well? So why would I feel worse than before, can you explain?

Well basically since angioplasty and stenting damages the artery / lining of the artery a temporary healing clot forms at the stent site, and this clot can be as large or larger than the original problem. People can snuff it in the days and weeks following.

So that's what the clopidogrel and aspirin are for, to help keep the clot / s under control

Also the bisoprolol(?) can make you feel [enter ailment here]

Yes I've had the procedure twice

Snuff it??

So the stent procedures you have had were there any issues with clotting?

Yes the clots can be lethal I felt very delicate after the first ones,, everyone has issues with clotting, that's why everyone (well mostly) go on the medicines. Give it a month ot two and then see how you feel. Don't forget your GTN spray will still help in the meantime and your Doctor or GP can help to

Gosh, now I am really freaking out!! My anxiety is sky high. I thought finding the blockage and get the stent in was the hard part. I am 45 yrs old and it has hit me like a ton of bricks. I have 7 children and a wonderful wife and mother. I'm going to worry myself into a heart attack!! 😞

5 days - heart problems are a marathon not a sprint I'm afraid.

I would be very surprised if you felt fabulous 5 days after your procedure.

You need to monitor yourself, do you have a blood pressure monitor at home, you can buy cheap ones at the chemists.

Also watch you weight.

Keep a diary of you blood pressure and weight, daily, when you first get up, in your PJ's.

If you suddenly gain more than 2 kilos, you need to pull the plug on yourself and re-present at the hospital emergency department with your diary in hand to show them your normal patterns.

Also get offffffff the junk food, lots of fresh veges, making stir fries of fresh veges, with lots of flavour, no salt, is time consuming, but worth it, fish, lean meat, no beer, my lists on NO's are huge, sorry probably preaching to the converted.

It's nothing to get worked up over, millions have gone through what we've been through and they're perfectly fine, it's just not an instantaneous fix

You are on some very strong medication right now it will take time for you body to get used to them. You may need to change or adjust your meds with your doctor because everyone is different and also you get the cheapest drugs first. In my experience and everyone is different the first year is the worst.
