Had MIS on both feet, felt rubbish after op, but hate lying here. Get bandages off next Friday, can anyone advise to they put more on?
Hi billben - good luck with your recovery! I am havig MIS both feet on Dec 8th so will be very interested to see how you get on. Where did you have yours done? Good luck with your recovery!!
I had it done at Nuffield in Glasgow where are you having yours done?
Montefiore in Hove - David Redfern. I guess MIS is probably less painful no?
Hi I had full bunion surgery on both feet, break shave and screws. I had original badges going removed and smaller less bulky ones replaced for another 2 weeks. Every day is a better day now. Just be patient I am sure it's all worth it! Good luck to you both
Thanks Paula,
They say MIS is quicker recovery with nothing to compare I don't know? I will though as I go along, day 6 at mo
I had surgery on both feet in 2004, 3 months apart. I believe you should just try to relax and not hurry healing. You need to give it time otherwise you might damage the soft tissue and have to get repairs, plus you will have pain. Just put some pillows under your knees and keep ice on and off every 20 minutes. get some books or watch TV and get ready to just let the healing begin. I put Lavender oil on my stitches/or rather around it several times a day. Google Lavender oil, you will amazed at how it heals. I also (still) put Eucalyptus oil on tops and bottoms of my feet and layer with peppermint. It is so soothing. Good luck, you can't hurry this healing.
Hi I had MIS bunion surgery on both feet 4 and a half weeks ago. When the bandages were removed after one week, I had large plasters put o to cover the wounds. Now have no dressings over wounds, just tape around toes. Getting around much better now. Looking forward to not having to wear the glamorous shoes but also a bit nervous about this!

That makes me happy! How long where you actually incapacitated Lilian? i.e what would yousay the recovery time was in that you were able to return to work? Now that I have made up my mind I just want to get on with! Thank you so much for your info btw!

But discomfort at times it's not. That said I am sure it's less than conventional method.
