got tested a week or 2 after and the blood test came back negative now a year and 2 months later this is happening
Its hard to tell from this picture.
but your best bet is to go request an IGG type blood test.
Many doctors are uninformed and dont tell you the IGM test (which is only reliable for a short while after exposure, and even at that has a high false negative rate), should not be solely used.
IGG is only reliable 4+ months after exposure since your body has to build enough antibodies to get a positive. This is the test you should insist on getting as well as having a doctor swab the sores while theyre fresh.
Keep in mind, 80% of the population has HSV, and you may not have even gotten it from that specific person. Anyone with oral herpes (cold sores) could have given it to you through oral, or someone asymptomatic.
People often carry the virus for months or even years with an outbreak and so have no idea.
i got genital HSV2 from my boyfriend who had no idea he was a carrier.
is this a better picture
is this a better picture
did you have unprotected sex with them? is it painful? blood tests usually arent accurate until 3 or so months after exposure. i would get tested again
so you dont think my blood test would be accurate after a couple of weeks
Yes, the IGM test (which would be the one they should give you after recent exposure), has a high false negative rate. Its not reliable.
The IGG test, which is more reliable, is only accurate 4+ months after exposure. For this test, the body has to have built up enough antibodies against the virus to get a positive, which takes roughly 4 months for the average person.
it looks like a bartholin cyst to me. ive had one before and if i remember correctly, it was swollen like that. theres a gland there that gets plugged and swollen. you may want to google that.
