I had unprotected sex with someone about 5 days who has herpes, she says she takes medication and she currently had no outbreak. After intercourse I vigorously wiped down my penis with alcohol wipes and took a very hot shower. About 3 days ago my back and side started hurting very bad and 2 days ago I noticed dry spots on my penis along with some red spots. They do not itch or hurt, I have no discomfort in my groin. Does this look like herpes?
Hi, it’s hard to tell. Herpes is usually very painful. HSV is transmitted by skin to skin contact even without visible sores and no hot shower or alcohol wipes can’t get rid of the virus.
Alcohol is very strong and can cause damages to the skin. So it’s possible to be a skin irritation or balanitis.
Since you had an exposure, you should get swabbed before it heals. Otherwise, you should get a blood test in 12 weeks for peace of minds.
do you think those pictures resemble sores at all? they haven’t gotten worse and i dont see anything new.
I think it looks more like balanitis/irritation but it can be easily mistaken with a mild herpes outbreak. If it was me, I would get tested to be sure.
