Hello all, I am 2 weeks post op and I'm doing pretty well I feel. Except for my hamstring on the op leg, it feels realy tight up into my bum, and if I lean forward at all it feels terrible.I wake up every morning and it's so tight it feels like its going to snap! Also the musle at the back of my knee on the outside feels realy tender. If I touch it it feels realy bruised but without any visual damage. I have tried to rest these but they don't feel any better. Has anyone had any similar experiences?
Kind regards
Mike
Hi Mike
Could it be the Sciatic nerve? I had that for the first week after my op but then it seemed to clear up. Sometimes these nerves are aggravated during the op and then need time to calm down. If you are seeing Physio maybe see what they say.
All the best for an easier recovery

Hi Mike
its still early days for you & the pain takes a while to settle down. Try an ice pack & elevate your leg if it gets too bad. It should settle down with time
You have had a major op, take it easy & give your body time to recover.
Hi Micheal , I am six weeks post op from a double hip replacement and also get sore knees in the morning , it feels really tight and find that stretching my toes towards me helps to strech it out and once I have been for a walk it is better but know what you mean about it snapping . I sleep with a pillow under my knees for comfort but that might cause the tightness in the morning . It will defineately get better , we just have to be patient , pardon the pun !! At my pre op Iwas told that having a double would be very hard and take longer so I am sure you will be fine given a bit of time , all the best , Ruth
Thank you Ruth, I appreciate your kind words. I guess I will have ro be patient. Good luck on your recovery too.
Mike
