Happy hippie 6today!

Hi here I am! 6 weeks on! Still bruised! On 1stick inside but 2when I am out! Have organised extended care for hubby till mid may as not feeling strong enough yet! Still on Wiltshire farm foods! Anything to make my life easier!my physio has said I can go swimming in hydro! But maybe not till bruising settles! Still not sleeping but a lot on mind! Also might have to have right knee seen too! But one step at a time! Regards Amanda

Hi Amanda, well done on your bench mark and try not to worry hopefully things will pan out well.

I took a big step yesturday went to London yesturday taking both my crutches as went to see a show for my boyfriends valentines/birthday treat. Was a lot of walking but glad I did it. Took pain killers by 6 pm and was very painful and tired by 8 pm but a huge step.

Every day a step forward 😃 chin up. I can sympathise with no sleeping x

Hi Amanda! Thank you! I know I am doing as well as I can! But its been a huge body blow this whole op! Well done you in London! We are going up to a hotel in a few weeks time to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary! And the hotel have a hydro pool!!so I am really hoping for this as this is my target! Thanks for listening! Regards Amanda

Well done Amanda.

You've had a tough time I think but yes, one step at a time. And concentrate on each day.

Xx

Well done to the 2 x Amandas!

You are both doing well and doing the right thing by taking one day (and step) at a time but also at your own pace. You have been through major surgery and whatever makes your recovery easier for you is the important thing.

Enjoy every victory big or small as you get better and don't be afraid to ask for help.

You will find 6 weeks is a turning point when you start to do more and more.

I will be celebrating 12 weeks post op this week and will be back to looking after my 2 grandchildren from tomorrow.  I know I am going to get tired to begin with but I can have a nap when they are at Nursery/school if I need to catch up on sleep!

Take care and best wishes to all Hippies for a successful recovery.

Whoo!  The magic 6 weeks has been reached by you.  Glad you have managed to get extended care for your hubby.  Enjoy your stay in London and the hydro pool!

Well done, it just gets better from now on.  Don't worry too much about your knee, i also had knee problems up till about 3 months and consultant thought pain was coming from back and ordered an MRI - still waiting after 5 weeks, but pain has gone, something to do with the aftermath of hip op.  Unfortunately pain hasn't gone from other groin so that needs doing but 6 weeks is really early for you and i wish you all the best, at least your summer is on it's way.
