Hi have just returned from consultant ! I am just over 6 weeks! He said yes I will be tender for months! But listen to my body and walk as much as possible! Well I am going to have hydro instead as well as walking! I still will use a stick as I have a bad knee as well! But I have come a long way !! Also I am a full time carer for my disabled husband! So not easy for me! Regards Amanda

Hi Tracey! I am so pleased! But I still feel tender! But consultant was very please! So he said just listen to your body and keep up the hydro and also my reflexology! I was so terrified and my anxiety through the roof! Thank you! Regards Amanda

Well done Amanda, great news.

I had to go back to work for 2 days this week as they had no childcare but my mum came along to help me. I was very tired running after the 3 children but I will be in at the deep end next week working 4 days and 11 hours 😳!!!!!

Just a quick question do you have stinging happening around your scar, mine has been 2 days now??? Also trying to walk without my crutch but still limping and slow.

Hi Amanda,

I hope you don't mind me coming into the conversation.

I get stinging sometimes around my scar but I think its just part of the muscles healing and I only get it when I've been walking a lot, when I rest eventually it goes and it is getting less.

I'm also walking without my crutch now and I tend to limp after I've been sitting or as I get tired.

Hi Christine! Thanks for your reply! My consultant said it can take months for things to completely get back to normal! As I have arthritis in both hips and knees,I am in no rush to have another op,as my stress levels were through the roof! So reflexology and hydrotherapy here I go!! Regards Amanda

Hi Amanda! Good to hear from you! Yes I have had stinging around the scar area! I am still on a stick and will be as my knees and other hip will need doing! But a day at a time!! So am planning reflexology and hydrotherapy at haslemere hydro pool! I don't envy you with running about with your charges! How old are they? Please Amanda, don't over it! Otherwise you will have a set back! I had to extend my husband s care package much to the annoyance of Hubby's social worker! So they will be coming in till the middle of may! Even now I can't put my right sock on! Regards Amanda

It takes about a year apparently to get back to normal - whatever that is lol !

Good for you with the reflexology and hydrotherapy, it can't hurt and sounds nice.

I wouldn't fancy another op too soon either.
