Diagnosed with Hyper T in December many symptoms and 2 "hot nodules" but no Graves or Cancer. Had RAI treatment early January, noticed last week some dark circles under eyes, then 3 days woke with puffy eyes (continuing now). Have blood work done next week then see my doctor week after that to check my levels. Can't wait to ask many questions. Would appreciate any advice.
I have heard that it is possible to have Graves disease without having antibodies. I don't know how it was ruled out in your case. Part of Graves disease is eye problems from eye bulging to irritated itchy eyes. I have also heard that Graves patients who have eye disease and have it treated with RAI have a worsening of their eye disease.
I have had dark circles not with Graves disease but with a very intense depressive episode when I was a young adult. It was so bad that I had plastic surgery at the age of 25 to remove all the excess skin under my eyes that happened because I lost a lot of weight very quickly when I got depressed. The appearance improved but the darkness remained. I just cover it up with concealer and make up.

I had the eye disease preceding my Graves' D. diagnosis and it was one reason they didn't do RAI on me, (because it tends to worsen the eye effect. I also have dark circles around my eyes, but other than being dark after eye muscle surgery, I don't know if it is related. I also have Hashimoto's T. and I may have had both types of antibodies throughout my life with the one cancelling out the other, but I had double vision since age 15 or 16, eye muscle surgery at age 17, returning double vision at 30 or so, and much worsening double vision at 60, just after I was shown to be hyperthyroid and before my GD diagnosis.
Be sure that question is on your list that you want to ask the doctor.
