Has anyone been turned down for Myomectomy due to high A-1 C (blood sugar)?

I have been told by several doctors they won’t do a myomectomy because my A1 C is a 9 and they want it at 7. As hard as I tried medications and diet I’m not getting to a (blood sugar) A-1 C of 7. I recently talked to a doctor from a different state and she said she hadn’t heard of that before that people with high sugar get surgery all the time. It would seem to me that they should be able to do surgery and then help me with the blood sugar after since some of my fibroid bleeding got worse by trying the diabetic medications. Has anyone been turned down for myomectomy surgery because of their blood sugar levels?

If so, were you able to get surgery anyway? Did you have to go above the doctors head or anything like that? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi, yes i was turned down for months because of my A1c being a 12 at one point(stress affected my levels). It had to be at an 8 to be cleared for surgery. I was put on Soliqua insulin shots. I got it down to an 8. I also took ceylon cinnamon twice a day and saw I didnt need my insulin as the ceylon cinnamon (not the same as regular cinnamon) helped me a lot along with managing my stress. I stopped taking my insulin a week before surgery as it was dropping me too low. The day after surgery the surgon said my A1c level was a 6 and I no longer needed insulin. Hope this helps. You don’t want it to be high after recovery as you would be at risk for infection. The lower the better.
