One doctor - infection specialist - suggested infusion therapt. Problem is very expensive. $500 for 1st week $350 for 2nd week. Has anyone done this successfully? And every day you have to see dr you are being charged co-pay.
Infusion therapy involves the administration of medication through a needle or catheter. It is prescribed when a patient’s condition is so severe that it cannot be treated effectively by oral medications. Would you describe your Diverticular Disease so severe that oral medication is ineffective, bearing in mind that it takes at least as long as the course of pills for the oral treatment to work, and the pain can linger for weeks or months afterwards whilst you heal. There is no quick fix for an attack. Did the doctor see your wallet walk in the door?
I don't think it's that severe. I am on orals now. Aside from making me naseous - I have no clue if the're working. Donyou know of anyone who did infusion sucessfully? Thanks for your reply.
The pills will make you feel rough and it will be a couple of weeks after you finish them and their side effects have gone, before you start to notice the improvement. Sorry - I'd never heard of infusion treatment before your post, so can't comment on the effectiveness.
