So glad I found this community.. I am so nervous and I've been dealing with this problem for about a year now. I get these random cuts in my perineum area (sorry for graphic photo). At first, I thought I nicked myself while shaving.. I even stopped shaving bc of it. Then I figured it might be a fissure. I went to the doctor, I was told to eat more fiber diets, changed my eating habit and got Preparation H and an organic salve. Preparation H helped stop the tear for about a month and I've been having good bowel movement.
Last week, a cut came back and I decided to go see my obgyn. I explained my symptoms to the midwife and she looks at it and then said it might be herpes. I was shocked and scared shitless. I've been with one partner in the past two years and we always used condoms. He was tested for STI's, all negative. I've been tested for STI's as well, all negative. I did 3 blood Herpes tests in the last year, all came back negative. She decided to go for a swab and now I have to wait 2 grueling weeks for results. She took a swab for herpes and BV.
I started reading up information online only to find out that herpes can also present as a fissure.. needless to say I'm confused. It doesn't burn or hurt except for when I'm in the shower and water runs there. She also gave me anti-fungal cream to use for the next 7 days. Has this happen to anyone? Please help..
