Has anyone experienced a stress fracture after a total hip replacement?

I had a THR (right hip) April 2015.  1 week later I sustained a stress fracture in my left hip.  My surgeon did absolutely nothing to address the fracture.  I am now left with 1/2" gap between my Sacral ala and Iliac bone.  I must use a walker in the house.  I need two canes for walking outside while I tend to my animals.  I can not take 1 unassited step.  Is there any way I can be fixed?

Hi Deboah

You have not really explained - the hip operation was two years ago - what did you do after discharge from Hospital - why do you say he did nothing to address the fracture.  The way you state this, it sounds like you left hospital with no contact with any medical person, physio, gp, or otherwise to date.  Please could you explain a little more what happened and what has been happening in this past two years, so people can respond?  There is a discussion going on now which involves a lady who is still experiencing a lot of pain, that may well be quite informative for you, but with no information, we are all wondering what advice to give.  Regards Dot

I agree with Dottie and also would like to know a little bit more about you ..

I'm sorry my list is in reverse order starting at the bottom.  When I say my surgeon did nothing about the stress fracture what I mean is he uped the strength of my pain meds and told me to lie real still for a couple of weeks.  But don't forget to do my therapy no matter how much pain I was in.  He didn't even diagnose it for a month.  As far as he is concerened I am released from his care.  The hip replacement was done, the joint works, that was all he was concerned about.
